focused intention, fluidity, heartfulness

zenthai shiatsu bodywork therapy

  • The easiest though very simplified description - it's like being moved through a full vinyasa yoga session, but your body is allowed to be fully relaxed and carried. Based on your specific needs, different methods facilitate stretching, tapping, compression and release of the somatic network, to encourage a free-flowing connection towards more wholeness and harmony in your being. The bodywork is done fully clothed, though sometimes abdominal / organ work, cupping or moxibustion asks for skin-on-skin connection around the belly and back. Consent is always requested prior to beginning a session.

    There is a time for savasana at the end, to allow your experience time to integrate and settle.

    If you have any queries please don't hesitate to contact us anytime (hello@estuaryyoga.com.au), or ask when we check in at the beginning of a session.

  • Anyone who is open to experiencing more grace, fluidity and openness in their bodies.

    If you are working with injuries or recovering from illness, please check in via email first and we can approach the session in a way to care for what needs extra attention - hello@estuaryyoga.com.au

    Please let us know too if you are pregnant or working with your womb in a certain way so the practice can be shaped to support you.

  • Fluidity. Tenderness. Intimacy. Connecion. Invigoration Soothing. Warm. Diaphanous. Calming. Earthy. Fun. Dance-like. Floating on a cloud. Enlivening. Relaxing.

    { some of the words from receivers of zenthai shiatsu }

  • Please wear what is most comfortable, warm and easeful to be moved in. Socks are highly recommended as the extremities tend to get cool through the session.

Zenthai Shiatsu draws on the energetic approaches of Zen Shiatsu and Traditional Thai Massage, the remedial techniques of Osteopathy and the key principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda.

Just as waterways and estuaries etched into our planet carry nutrients and communication, the energetic channels of the body convey the currents of our life-force and sustain our vitality. We accumulate the residue of everyday living - including toxins, stress, traumas, imbalances, unprocessed emotional and physical experiences. This contributes to stagnation and dis-orientation of these pathways, and thus the formation of dis-ease.

Zenthai Shiatsu works not with ‘fixing’ ailments. Instead, it utilises a variety of techniques to support the body towards its most harmonious state and clear way for our powerful innate healing capacity.

It has evolved to be widely recognised as a structurally effective and energetically profound form of therapy, particularly useful in working with issues of the musculo-skeletal, digestive and nervous systems.

The zenthai shiatsu massage I received from Lucy was like nothing I have ever experienced before. Lucy’s hands were so warm and her touch carried so much care, tenderness and patience. She went the extra mile, prioritising my comfort throughout and tailoring the massage to my needs. I left feeling like I was floating on a cloud!
— Bella, yoga teacher
Zenthai Shiatsu with Lucy was a comforting, therapeutic, and releasing experience for my mind and body. I felt nurtured and heard for the whole session.
— Louis, circus performer
Lucy used her yogic knowledge combined with warm hands, a sensitive touch and firm knowledge of Thai shiatsu to really get into those sticky parts that I didn’t even realise I had until I was in the safety of her touch. The massage itself moved the body in ways that were deeply releasing, blended softness and strength, and were really balanced to provide both an energetic, as well as a muscular relief across the entire body.
